Day 364 – 365 Days through the Word

Day 364 – Count it all Joy.

“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have it’s full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” James 1:2-4

There will be good times and there will be hard times, but through Christ, we have the opportunity to count it all as joy.

Jesus didn’t say, believe in me and everything will be easy. No, he said, “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

You see, Joy is the presence of Christ. It isn’t happiness, it is the feeling of freedom and peace in all circumstances. It is saying “your will be done” to Jesus when you were hoping your will would have been done. It’s trusting Jesus, that His outcome is better for you than what you thought was best for you. Joy is seeking the rainbow in the storm.

Joy is always available to us because Jesus is always with us.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded to you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

As you get ready to go into this new year, I challenge you to seek joy every day. Write down something you are thankful for, grateful for, something that brought you Joy. And I bet you will Find Joy in every circumstance, and Find Jesus right there with you.
