Day 352 – 365 Days through the Word

Day 352 – On the 18th Day of Christmas – We will recognize the Lord.

Luke 2:12 “And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.”

Sometimes things aren’t as we think they should be. No one seems to be who they say they are, and we may wonder, is the Lord even among us. The world can be such a dark place, but we will always recognize the Lord. He is the good that we see, He is the rainbow that you needed to see, He is in that billboard that speaks directly to you, He is the Word of God that pierces your heart. The Lord may seem covered by the worries of the world, the darkness that casts shadows on the path, but when we pull all of that away and strip the layers off, He is hidden right there in our hearts. And we WILL recognize Him!

Jeremiah 24:7 “I will give them hearts that recognize me as the Lord. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me wholeheartedly.”

As you look for the Lord this Christmas, hidden under the headlines, shopping bags, long lines, and frustrated drivers, remember, He’s been hidden in your heart, He’s wrapped in the warmth of the Holy Spirit. Be still, you will recognize Him, and find what you’ve really been looking for.
