Day 210 – 365 Days through the Word

Day 210 – It is always good to return to the Father.

Today’s Reading: Jeremiah 3 – 5

Jeremiah 3:14, 22 “Return, faithless people,” declares the Lord, “for I am your husband. I will choose you—one from a town and two from a clan—and bring you to Zion. “Return, faithless people; I will cure you of backsliding.” “Yes, we will come to you, for you are the Lord our God.”

For the past 2 weeks I’ve been in Europe with my oldest child. We went to London, Winchester, Windsor, Normandy, Oxford, and Paris. Truly, it was an amazing time with some awesome people, but my husband and daughters weren’t able to travel with us. We had one of the most memorable trips of a lifetime, but the only thing that would’ve made it better is if we could’ve all done it together.

You know, that’s the same way we are with Our Heavenly Father. Sometimes we turn away from Him. When we first walk away from God it’s because either everything is going really well and we forget to look to him or everything is going really bad and we turn away from him.

In the beginning everything may seem to go great, but after even just a short time away, things seem to slip. Our attitudes change, everything seems more difficult, and we don’t even realize it’s because we’ve left His Presence.

No matter how long we’re gone or how far we’ve gone away, Our Father in Heaven wants us back. When we turn back to Him, He will have His arms wide open ready to embrace us, save us, and heal us of our past. We NEED the Father just as much as He WANTS us with Him. There is nothing that can take His love away.

Have you strayed from the Lord? Have you walked away because of a certain situation in your life? He’s longing for you to come back to Him and He alone will restore your Joy. So what are you waiting on? Come back to your Heavenly Father, He’s been waiting on you.
