Day 38 – 365 Days through the Word

Day 38 – He will strengthen me for the Journey, Opening my eyes to His Testimony, Carrying the bags of my burdens, Until we reach the land for which we are going.

Todays Reading: Numbers 17:1 – 21:35

Numbers 21:34-35 “But the Lord said to Moses, “Do not fear him, for I have given him into your hand, and all his people, and his land. And you shall do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon.” So they defeated him and his sons and all his people, until he had no survivor left. And they possessed his land.”

Now that the Israelites have set out on their 40 year journey in the wilderness, many troubles would come along their path. There would be areas of drought, but God would provide water from a rock. There would be distrust in their leadership, but God would show the true leader through a budded and blossomed staff. The original leaders would pass away, the congregation would mourn, but God would raise up other leaders in their place and comfort them in their loss. There would be battles in unexpected places, but God would lead them to and through each one.

Along each of our journeys we have the opportunity to experience this same strength , peace, comfort, guidance, and power. My own path has been burdened by abuse, miscarriage, financial loss, and eventual child loss, but God brought me to and through each one much stronger on the other side. God has carried my burdens, strengthening my walk, building my testimony that will continue until He calls me home. Everyone has their wilderness, but not everyone has God. Don’t go it alone.
