Day 28 – Sometimes doing good still isn’t doing Right.
Today’s Reading: Leviticus 8:1 – 10:20
Leviticus 10:1-3 “Now Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer and put fire in it and laid incense on it and offered unauthorized fire before the Lord, which he had not commanded them. And fire came out from before the Lord and consumed them, and they died before the Lord. Then Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the Lord has said: ‘Among those who are near me I will be sanctified, and before all the people I will be glorified.’” And Aaron held his peace.”
Moses and all the congregation of Israel were busy consecrating Aaron and his sons for the priesthood. There were specific steps and procedures God required of them, but nothing more or nothing less. It was an act of obedience to the Lord that they did exactly as He asked.
However, 2 of Aaron’s son, Nadab and Abihu, didn’t follow these rules exactly. They decided it would be good for them to offer more burnt incense to the Lord. It wasn’t bad, but it was against the Lord’s will, and they were burned to death by the fire.
Do you know that person that is a Good person, I mean a REALLY Good person, that you think to yourself, if only they followed Jesus they’d be an amazing Christian?! Or maybe, you are that person, you always do good, but you just can’t bring yourself to follow the Lord and be saved by Him?
I’m so thankful for these people and I call many of them friends, but it is my hearts desire that I will see them one day in Heaven.
Don’t let the fire get you, let Christ Save you! Turn Good into Right, and Right into God’s Glory you will Go.
Dear Heavenly Father, Some of my dearest friends and family have not yet given over their life to you. They do so much good but the good doesn’t bring you Glory. Please help me to lead them in your direction, to point them to you. In Jesus Name, Amen.
