Holding onto Hope, Even If

“Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up. ”
Daniel 3:16-18

Have you ever been in an Even If situation? Quite possibly you are in one right now. A time where you are praying that the hard thing you’re in will go away or get better, but Even If it doesn’t you will stand strong in your faith and hope in God.

God does not change in any circumstance. He is Good and for your Good. He is who he is and he always will be. The great thing about this is that in every circumstance, God promises to be with you and promises His Good for you. He is able to save you, He is able to answer all of your prayers in the way you desire….But sometimes, His Will will be different than you’re will, and His plans different than your plans. This is His Sovereignty.

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,” Ephesians 3:20

He is Able, But His Will Be Done.

“Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” Matthew 26:39

Daniel’s friends knew God could save them, but they prayed even if he didn’t they would still have faith and hope in him. Jesus knew his father could take the wrath of the world away from him, but even if he didn’t he trusted the wisdom and sovereignty of God. I knew God could save and heal my little boy this side of heaven, but even if he didn’t I would still have hope and faith in him.

Even if….He didn’t; I still do.

It’s hard to always trust God’s will or understand his ways, sometimes we never will. But if you know in your heart that he is Lord and you trust that he loves you and is for you, even if it doesn’t go the way you wanted he is still good and knows what’s best.

My Hope, Faith and Trust is in Jesus, Above All. He didn’t choose to save my son this side of Heaven BUT I know He is Good and I still Hold onto Hope in Him.
