God NEVER leaves those He’s Called

“But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, you descendants of Abraham my friend, I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, ‘you are my servant’; I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:8-10

If God has called you, if he has wooed you to himself, he will never leave you or forsake you, but instead he will strengthen you and encourage you all the days of your life.

God creates all people, he alone knits them together in their mother’s womb. From the time you and I were born he began watching over us, allowing his eyes to roam across the heavens and all creation to see what all his creation was doing. He planned out our life, but out of his love for us gave us freedom to choose our paths. Yet in our choosing, he also knew the way we’d take. And within his specific creation, plans, and thoughts of us, he individually calls his people to himself.

Many think the “call” means into ministry or along some great path of that nature, but the call itself is just into being his child, a part of his family, to know him more intimately and follow his ways. The call is followed by love for his Son and acceptance of this love by calling his Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

My specific call came as a small child, and my life has had so many twists and turns since, it’s no wonder I love pretzels. But seriously, I for one have the right to believe he has left me, he hates me, or that he isn’t even there. Yet I have no doubt that within all my life, circumstances and tragedies I’ve experienced that God ALONE has always been there. In my weakest moments, he’s the one that Strengthens me. He is the one who has lifted me out of the pit and encouraged me to keep going.

“The grass withers and the flowers fade but the word of our God endures forever.” Isaiah 40:8

Even though everything else in my life has had a time – Things and people — God’s Word has ALWAYS been there and has NEVER changed. From the time God called me as a small child, from the time I could hear and eventually read his word, I have. It has been a constant, the Word of God, it is what has always proved true and allowed me to hear from him and experience him in my life.

No matter where I’ve been in my life, no matter what situation I find myself in, since God has called me he’s been with me. Even when I can’t feel his presence, I can go to Him through His Word and Prayer and He is always there.

Has God called you? Have you EVER felt His Call and chosen to accept it and follow Him? Then you are His Child and He is your Lord. He is with you, no matter what you’ve been through or are going through, He’s there. Go to Him, His Word, and you’ll find Him. He will strengthen you and help you to continue on.
